GETHSEMANE
PROJECT

"... that they may be One as we are one; I in them and you in me; that they may be made perfect in One, and that the world may know that you have sent me ..."
John 17:  vs 22-23
About the Gethsemane Project

About the Project

The Gethsemane Project is about Jesus. It's about Christians all over the world, coming together, in the Spirit of God, in the Spirit of Love and Unity, to answer the prayer of Jesus in the Garden; to grant the last wishes of our LORD and Savior.

   Sadly, until this day, until this Generation, his prayer has gone unanswered. The History of the Church has been a history of division and strife ... anything but Unity. To be fair, there has been some unity within the many sects and denominations that have evolved in Protestantism, but not in the manner Jesus had in mind. Jesus desired Unity for his disciples; and not for them only

 "... but for them also which shall believe on me through their word ..."

That's you and me. We are the only ones who can answer the prayer of Jesus ... for even though, the Son, made known to the Father, his request for his body, his Church ... GOD is unable to grant that request apart from us. He cannot violate his WORD ... he will not violate or override our free will ... and we have been unwilling. Until now.

  • Only we, the Church can grant our LORD his Last Wish.

  • Only we, the Church can lay down our doctrine for a day

  • Only we the Church can set aside our differences for a moment

      and recognize ...

"... though we are many, we are one Body."

  The Son of Man, surrendered his will to the Father, enduring the agony of the cross, to redeem us all to him. It is now our time. It is the least we can do, to surrender our wills in order that his desire, as he prayed in Gethsemane, might be made manifest in us, this Chosen Generation.

   Below, we will give you some Scriptural Background and Basis for our Mission:

"... to unite the Body of Christ through the recognition and exaltation of our Common Savior, and our common Great Commission;

"... go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation ..."

Scripture Background

Scripture Background

John 17: 1-11

“…Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are …”

Romans 12: 3-5

"... For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

We are United by our Common Beliefs
by our Creeds and Confessions
Creeds and Confessions

Creeds & Confessions

In this Section, we reference and bring to remembrance, some of the Creeds and Confessions of the Early Church that serve to define who we are and the Beliefs that we hold common.

Paul's Corinthian Creed

" ...Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed ..."

The Old Roman Symbol

I believe in God the Father almighty; and in Christ Jesus His only Son, our Lord,

Who was born of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, Who under Pontius Pilate was crucified and buried, on the third day rose again from the dead, ascended to heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, whence He will come to judge the

living and the dead; and in the Holy Spirit, the holy Church, the remission of sins, the resurrection of the flesh. (the life everlasting)

Paul's Declaration of Christian Identity

I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is Lord ... but by the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 12:3

John's Declaration of Christian Identity

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:

Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ,

is come in the flesh is of God:

1 John 4:2

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God,

God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

1 John 4:15

These earliest of Christian Creeds, speak for themselves. Affirmed and and taught  by St. John and St. Paul ... pillars of our faith. If we hold these beliefs, we belong to GOD. If anyone holds these beliefs they are GOD's and they are our Brothers and Sisters; no matter what lesser, non-essential, denominational beliefs we all may have or practice.

"... Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment ..."

Therefore, if you believe and agree with the Creeds and Confessions as outlined above, if you agree with the clear directive of Christ and the Apostles, I would ask you to follow the link to the Declaration Petition below, affirming your agreement and desire;

"... to unite the Body of Christ through the recognition and exaltation of our Common Savior, and our common Great Commission;

"... go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation ..."

   Proverbs 6:19 says "GOD hates, he who sows discord, among the Brethren." In contrast Matthew 5:9 tells us "... Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called "the Children of GOD." It's time for the Body of Christ to stop sowing discord in our own family, and start showing the world, the Unity that should define,

"the Children of GOD."
